Speakeasy Ray is a San Francisco Bay Area DJ and producer of downtempo, midtempo, trip-hop, ambient house, techno, re-edits and remixes, with a deep rooted love for classic soul, funk, and Northern Soul.  For over 35 years, he has been spinning at raves, festivals, clubs, bars - wherever people need good grooves, preferably on turntables.

Having been collecting records since he was 3 and spinning since 1989, he helped co-found the famed chillroom crew The Ambient Mafia in 2000 and is a part of multiple respected Bay Area DJ crews.  His first release, Skylon EP, came out in 2013 and since then he has done remix and production work with and for the likes of legendary Manchester band James, Rowetta from Happy Mondays, and Q-Burns Abstract Message.  He has also been the lead singer and main songwriter of his indie pop band Hope Chest since 1991.

Speakeasy Ray is a well-known tiki DJ, who has played countless gigs at Trader Vic's, Forbidden Island, Dr. Funk, Kapu, and more.  Tiki Tuesdays With Speakeasy Ray debuted as a weekly stream on Twitch in April 2020.  Since then, the stream has grown to feature interviews with bands like Ixtahuele, Mark Riddle, Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica, and Frankie & The Poolboys, as well as vintage videos and his own tiki-based research.  Live gigs are occasionally livestreamed and additional pop-up streams featuring myriad musical styles occur frequently on the channel.
